Human Services Board
The Human Services Board is a policy and advocacy board, charged with representing the broad interests of the community through statutorily defined representation. The Board meets regularly in committee and as a whole to set policy, review agency services, advise the Director, monitor progress towards outcomes, and advocate for needed changes in service delivery and resource allocation.
The Board serves the community by providing policy guidance and advocacy in the prevention of disease; the promotion of public health; for social services programs; and services for people with mental illness, developmental disabilities, or substance abuse problems.
The Board is also a policy and advocacy board for Wake County Environmental Services Department.
Environmental Services Vision:
Wake County will have clean air and water; adequate, convenient open space; properly managed solid waste; and a healthy environment. People in Wake County will be environmentally literate and will take personal responsibility to support this vision.
