Energy-Efficient Facilities in Wake County
The Wake County Human Services Center (left), comprising some 160,000 square feet, opened in 1993 at 220 Swinburne St. in Raleigh. The Human Services Center is one of the most energy-efficient facilities in Wake County Government's portfolio. With its ice thermal storage design, it supplies approximately 7-degree cooler air to all occupied spaces, compared to conventional office building air-distribution systems.
