Glenn Blackley
Glenn Blackley is the founding principal of Atlantic FM, LLC, a Facility Management Consulting business established in 2004, and has more than 35 years experience in organizational and facility management. He has a proven record of accomplishment and special expertise in managing large complex public organizations, projects and facility portfolios. He began his career in the construction trades, rising to journeyman pipe fitter and certified pipe welder, ultimately establishing and operating a mechanical contracting business. Following his construction experience Glenn became a Heating & Air Conditioning, Welding and Industrial Maintenance Engineering instructor for the North Carolina Community College System. After his contracting and teaching years, Glenn’s profession turned to facility management, as Physical Plant Director for the North Carolina Department of Human Resources. Glenn completed his public service as the General Services Administrator for Wake County Government, retiring in 2004 with 30 years service.
A native of Wake County, Glenn graduated from Cary High School and Appalachian State University with a degree in Industrial Technology and minor in Business Administration. Glenn holds the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Section IV; Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code certification as a Pipe Welder; North Carolina Plumbing and Heating Contractors License; and the Certified Facility Manager (CFM) designation from the International Facility Management Association.
Glenn is married with two sons. His community involvement includes, former Chairman of Cary’s FUMC Trustees, Committee Chairman of BSA Troop 200, President of the International Facility Management Associations Triangle Chapter, and current Board member of the Christian Fellowship Home in Raleigh. Hobbies include fishing and boating.
