Give the Gift of Camp to Children in Need
YOU can give children a summer experience to remember by making a donation or getting involved. All camp scholarship recipients face financial hardship that would prevent them from attending camp without aid, and our scholarship process emphasizes family and youth participation.

Wake County 4-H Camp Week 2018

Wake County 4-H Youth Development partners with Betsy-Jeff Penn 4-H Educational Center each year for an exceptional summer camp program. This year's camp will take place from June 17 to June 22, 2018.
Betsy-Jeff Penn 4-H Center is located in Reidsville and is accredited by the American Camping Association. Wake County 4-H provides charter bus transportation to and from camp. Camp fees include insurance, all meals, transportation, a camp t-shirt and camp store money. There are three options for campers during this week.

NOTE: The Trekker program for 13–14-year-old girls is full, but there are 5 spots available for 13–14-year-old Trekker boys. Also, the Adventure program for BOTH 13–14-year-old boys and girls is closed. If you are interested in one of the programs that is closed, please email Karee Redman at to be placed on a waiting list. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Traditional campers ages 8–12 have a week of camp filled with archery, canoeing, swimming, horseback riding, rock wall climbing, and arts and craft. Evening activities include a talent show, land and water sports, a dance, and campfires (with s'mores!). The cost for traditional camp is $450.
Adventurer campers ages 12–14 do some of the traditional camp activities like archery, swimming and canoeing, but also learn some more advanced outdoor skills such as orienteering, cooking meals on campfires, and preparing a safe campsite. Adventurer campers sleep in tents two nights during the week of camp, but do not go horseback riding. Adventurers participate in the talent show, dance, and land and water sports during the evenings. The cost for Adventurer camp is $450.
Trekker campers ages 13–14 are focused on some advanced outdoor activities during the camp week. They learn how to canoe and learn advanced canoeing skills, as well as how to rock climb. A highlight for the Trekkers is a two-day, off-site climbing and river canoeing trip. Because of the off-site trip, Trekkers do not participate in the talent show or land and water sports, but they are back at camp in time for the dance on Thursday evening. The cost for Trekker camp is $470.
