CCBI provides fingerprinting services to the public during normal business hours. Individuals wishing to obtain fingerprints must present a current/valid, government-issued, photo identification (for example, state-issued driver’s license or ID card, passport, military ID). No digital representations of said identification will be accepted.
Only fingerprints for concealed handgun permits are completed at our office at 330 S. Salisbury St., Raleigh. Information about concealed handgun permits may be found on the Wake County Sheriff's Office website
All other fingerprinting services are completed at our office at 3301 Hammond Road, Raleigh.
CCBI provides fingerprint services for the following purposes:
- ABC licensing
- Bar exam candidates
- Child care/day care service
- Fingerprints requested by other states
- FINRA (Financial Services)
- Foster/adoption (US & international)
- NC lottery licensing
- Nursing license
- Precious metals licensing
- Visa application
CCBI will provide either electronic fingerprint submissions or inked fingerprint cards based on the needs of the individual seeking the service. Electronic fingerprint submissions are submitted directly to the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation. Inked fingerprint cards are returned to the customer for submission purposes.
Electronic fingerprint submissions require an Electronic Fingerprint Submission Release of Information form and an Applicant Information Form. Electronic submissions can only be completed for North Carolina background checks. CCBI cannot electronically submit fingerprints to another state. In this case, the individual will be given a physical fingerprint card.
Responses based on fingerprint submissions are sent to the requesting authority; CCBI does not have access to or receive these responses.
