Population Leaping in Wake

The News & ObserverThe News & Observer reported that U.S. census figures show that Wake's population growth was the 14th highest in the nation from 2000 to 2006. The current population of Wake County for 2006 is estimated at 786,522, only 41,000 people less than the state's most populous county, Mecklenburg. [read the full article]
